We're a small, well-funded team that believes the next great leap in B2B revenue won't come from more headcount—it'll come from machines that can listen, reason, and persuade at a level nobody has shipped yet. That ambition demands infrastructure that is airtight by default, not bolted on later. We need a founding engineer who can design the substrate everything else runs on: cloud primitives, deployment pipelines, secrets management, and the guardrails that keep sensitive financial and real-estate conversations from ever becoming a liability. This is a hands-on, architecture-owner role reporting directly to the CTO, with real equity and the kind of influence that only exists before the team doubles.
What they're looking for
- 5+ years in infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles with a heavy security emphasis, ideally in regulated sectors like fintech, insurtech, or healthtech
- Deep fluency with AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes in production, including IAM design and network segmentation
- Comfortable writing and reviewing Python beyond scripting—you treat infrastructure as code and believe observability is a first-class feature
- Track record of hardening CI/CD pipelines and shipping SOC 2 or equivalent compliance programs in an early-stage environment
- Clear communicator who can articulate risk tradeoffs to a non-security audience and move fast without leaving a trail of audit debt
