We're tackling a deceptively hard problem: how do you instantly know a business halfway across the world is legitimate? Our platform ingests messy, multilingual, multi-jurisdictional data and turns it into clear, actionable trust signals for banks, fintechs, and enterprise compliance teams. As our first engineering leader, you'll shape the technical strategy and team culture from the ground up—taking ownership of a Ruby-based stack that orchestrates AI models, third-party data pipelines, and a product experience that makes complex diligence feel simple. You'll report directly to the CEO and partner with a small, sharp team of 13 to define how we build, ship, and scale.
What they're looking for
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 in a leadership or management role
- Deep fluency in Ruby and strong opinions on API design, data modeling, and service boundaries
- Experience shipping B2B or enterprise products where correctness, security, and uptime are non-negotiable
- Comfort working at the intersection of AI/ML systems and traditional backend engineering—you don't need to train models, but you should know how to integrate them thoughtfully
- A track record of hiring and mentoring engineers in an early-stage environment, with a bias for clarity over chaos
