Most freight still gets coordinated over email, PDFs, and phone calls — a global industry running on manual busywork while the software around it has moved on. We're a small, well-funded team in San Francisco building AI that takes that busywork off operators' hands, and we need a founding engineer to own core systems end to end: data pipelines, model integration, and the product surfaces customers touch. Expect real ownership from week one, Python and TypeScript on Node, and the rare chance to shape both the codebase and the company. Compensation lands between $150K and $300K depending on experience.
What they're looking for
- 2-15 years of software engineering experience, with strong Python and TypeScript/NodeJS skills
- Comfort operating without a playbook — you'll be defining architecture, not inheriting it
- Interest in applied AI: integrating language models into real business workflows, not demos
- Based in (or willing to relocate to) San Francisco for on-site work
- Bias toward shipping: early-stage teams live or die by what gets delivered
