A tiny, well-funded lab dedicated to teaching AI to generate its own endless tasks.
Member of Technical Staff - Open Endedness
We need a researcher who finds comfort in ambiguity and sees unstructured problems as the ultimate training ground for artificial general intelligence. You will architect systems in PyTorch that move beyond static benchmarks to create self-sustaining loops of novel challenge generation. This is not a position for maintaining existing pipelines, but for defining the mathematical foundations of open-ended discovery within a focused, eight-person team.
What they're looking for
- Deep expertise in Python and PyTorch with a track record of shipping novel ML architectures.
- 5 to 15 years of experience navigating research problems where the objective function is unclear or evolving.
- Proven ability to conduct high-impact AI research within small, autonomous groups.
- Residence in or willingness to relocate to San Francisco for full-time on-site collaboration.
