We're rebuilding the plumbing that moves over a trillion dollars through American healthcare every year. Medical claims today pass through an astonishing number of manual touchpoints — phone calls, faxes, spreadsheets — before a provider ever sees a check. You'll design systems that turn that into something resembling a modern payments stack: deterministic, observable, and fast. This is backend-heavy work with real depth: modeling intricate insurance rules as data, orchestrating stateful workflows across cloud infrastructure, and sweating the reliability of every single transaction because a dropped claim means real revenue loss for a doctor's office.
What they're looking for
- 8+ years building and operating production backend systems, with deep experience in at least one of Python or Go
- Comfort reasoning about complex, domain-heavy logic — prior healthcare, fintech, or payments experience is a strong signal
- Track record of owning system design end-to-end: data modeling, service boundaries, infrastructure-as-code (GCP/AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform)
- Bias toward shipping incrementally and instrumenting everything; you treat observability as a feature, not an afterthought
- Located in or willing to relocate to New York, San Francisco, or Denver for full-time on-site collaboration
