We map the unseen — wetlands, endangered species corridors, flood zones — and translate that spatial reality into project timelines that actually hold up. This role sits at the intersection of environmental regulation, large language models, and old-fashioned engineering pragmatism. You'll shape how our platform interprets messy permitting rules, structure prompts that catch what human reviewers miss, and help project developers shave months off interconnection queues. The work is equal parts parsing CEQA documents and designing Excel-based review workflows that field teams can trust.
What they're looking for
- 2–5 years in environmental planning, land use permitting, or siting analysis for energy or infrastructure projects
- Fluency with Microsoft Excel for modeling regulatory timelines, constraints matrices, or mitigation cost estimates
- Experience applying large language models (OpenAI or equivalent) to structured document review, rule extraction, or technical writing tasks
- Demonstrated ability to read and distill federal, state, and local environmental regulations into actionable decision frameworks
- Comfort working hybrid from San Francisco and collaborating closely with a small, cross-functional product and engineering team
