You'll ship features that let contractors and energy operators bind policies in minutes, not weeks. On a typical day you might model a new coverage form in Python, expose it through GraphQL, then build the React component that lets a project manager tweak deductibles in real time. The systems you build touch everything from vector search over underwriting documents to transactional Postgres that handles premium calculations across state lines.
What they're looking for
- 4–8 years shipping production code, with serious depth in at least one of TypeScript or Python and comfort across the stack
- Demonstrated experience with modern React frameworks, preferably Next.js, and designing GraphQL schemas that serve multiple client surfaces
- Strong database instincts: you know when Postgres needs an index, when Redis is the right call, and how to keep data consistent across services
- Experience modeling complex business domains—insurance, finance, or similarly regulated industries preferred
- Willing to work on-site in New York or San Francisco; you value the iteration speed of a team in one room
