Spatial intelligence startup building foundation models for next-generation engineering design
CAD / Geometry Engineer
Spend your mornings debugging surface mesh algorithms in C++, your afternoons training neural networks on parametric solid representations, and your evenings debating whether boundary representation or constructive solid geometry better captures mechanical intent. You'll sit at the intersection of classical computational geometry and modern machine learning—building the geometric kernels that let generative AI reason about real-world parts, assemblies, and manufacturing constraints. The work demands fluency in both the elegant proofs of differential geometry and the messy realities of STEP file parsing.
What they're looking for
- 6+ years shipping production geometry code in Python and C/C++, including exposure to commercial CAD kernels or meshing libraries
- Deep expertise in one or more: NURBS, B-rep, CSG, mesh generation, or geometric constraint solving
- Track record of translating academic geometry research into robust, tested software
- Experience with machine learning pipelines and willingness to co-design models with their geometric substrates
- On-site in San Francisco; early-stage environment where you'll define systems from first principles
