Millions of people now spend their day inside AI apps that are free to use, which means the developers behind those products are stuck: subscriptions convert a fraction of users, display ads wreck the conversational experience, and hosting inference isn't cheap. This company built a monetization layer that places relevant, native ads directly into chat and AI-generated content, so developers can pay their bills without degrading what users came for. As the first Developer Relations hire, you'll own the story of how that works: writing the docs and sample integrations developers actually finish, speaking where AI builders gather, turning SDK feedback into product decisions, and building a community of founders who ship with the platform. It's a hands-on, on-site role in San Francisco or New York at a well-funded team of 18 that's growing fast.

What they're looking for

  • 1-5 years in developer relations, developer advocacy, or as a hands-on engineer who regularly writes, speaks, or teaches publicly
  • Genuine fluency with the AI developer ecosystem: LLM APIs, chat-based products, and how indie builders actually make money
  • Clear, opinionated writing and sample code that developers trust and can follow without hand-holding
  • Comfortable being the first DevRel hire: setting your own priorities and measuring yourself on developer adoption, not activity
  • Based in or willing to work on-site in San Francisco or New York
