Head of Software Architecture, Embodied AI Platform

You are a systems thinker who finds elegance in the tight coupling of software and physical motion, ready to define the architectural backbone for a fleet of autonomous machines. In this role, you will design high-performance RPC frameworks that bridge the gap between complex AI models and real-time hardware control loops. We need a leader who can translate ambitious research into robust, scalable platforms while guiding a lean, elite engineering team through critical growth phases.

What they're looking for

  • 8 to 12 years of experience designing distributed systems for robotics or embedded environments.
  • Deep expertise in optimizing RPC protocols for low-latency communication between compute nodes.
  • Proven track record leading engineering teams through the transition from prototype to production scale.
  • Strong background in integrating large-scale AI models with physical hardware constraints.
  • Ability to thrive in an on-site environment within the South Bay Area robotics hub.
