You'll spend your mornings tracing why a genomics pipeline stalled overnight, diagram a new service mesh over lunch, and pair with a scientist by afternoon to turn their messy assay spreadsheets into queryable vector embeddings. This is hands-on systems building at the ground floor of a team of four, where your Go and Kubernetes choices will outlive any job description we could write. San Francisco, in person.
What they're looking for
- 3-8 years shipping production systems in Go or Python, with at least two years owning Kubernetes infrastructure end to end
- Built and operated CI/CD, observability, and IaC (Terraform or Ansible) for data-heavy workloads, preferably in life sciences or similarly regulated domains
- Demonstrated ability to design FastAPI services that feed vector stores or similar retrieval architectures, with attention to latency and correctness
- Track record of mentoring engineers without the word 'manager' in your title—technical leadership through code review and architecture decisions
- Authorized to work in the US and able to work on-site in San Francisco five days a week
