Your first year ends with a dozen field crews relying on agentive vision models that you shaped directly from job sites—not dashboards. You’ll embed with technicians on electrical grids and factory floors, debug vision-language pipelines where dust, glare, and edge cases break assumptions, then route what you learn straight into the product. This is field engineering at the hardware–AI boundary: part solutions architect, part on-the-ground researcher, part the reason an early customer stays or walks.
What they're looking for
- 1–5 years in a forward-deployed, solutions, or integration engineering role where you touched physical hardware and wrote code the same day
- Comfortable reading and writing REST API integrations; experience scripting tooling around a CRM like Salesforce is a strong plus
- Instinct to diagnose AI model behavior in uncontrolled environments—lighting, occlusion, latency—and translate observations for an engineering team
- Willingness to travel on short notice within the Bay Area and occasionally beyond, wearing boots and a hard hat, not just a headset
- Clear, low-jargon communicator who can teach a crew lead why a model hesitated, then distill the same event into a concise internal write-up
