Merchant nanofabrication foundry building photonic infrastructure for defense, data centers, and orbital systems.

Electrical Engineer

Los AngelesOn-site$160K - $230K5 - 10 years
You'll spend mornings debugging high-speed interconnect layouts on merchant silicon-photonic wafers, afternoons testing fiber-to-chip coupling assemblies in cleanroom conditions, and evenings documenting signal integrity margins for radiation-hardened space payloads. This is hands-on work at the boundary of semiconductor process and photonic packaging—no two days repeat. The team is tiny, the capital equipment is already on order, and the first defense customer delivery is eighteen months out.

What they're looking for

  • 5+ years designing electrical systems for photonics, RF, or semiconductor process equipment
  • Deep familiarity with high-speed digital layout, power delivery networks, and thermal constraints in dense packages
  • Experience shipping hardware that survived military environmental qualification (MIL-STD-810, DO-160, or equivalent)
  • Comfortable owning a schematic from concept review through fabrication bring-up with minimal oversight
  • Willing to work on-site in Los Angeles daily, with periodic travel to foundry partners
