We’re building a research engine that lets the world’s sharpest consumer brands test ideas, pricing, and positioning against synthetic populations before they spend a dollar in the real world. The platform ingests messy survey data, runs inference at scale, and surfaces answers that used to take months—now they land in hours. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll sit directly between this product and the teams using it, shaping how it lands inside their workflows and writing the code that makes integrations feel invisible. You won’t just troubleshoot; you’ll stand up new environments, extend the platform for a specific account, and feed what you learn straight back into the roadmap. The split is roughly 60% hands-on engineering and 40% technical partnership—debugging a Python pipeline in the morning, walking a brand strategist through a React dashboard in the afternoon, then shipping a TypeScript improvement before the week ends.
What they're looking for
- 5+ years writing production code in Python or TypeScript, with real depth in at least one of React, NodeJS, or data engineering in R
- Comfort modeling and querying relational data in PostgreSQL, including performance tuning for mid-volume analytical workloads
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with external technical stakeholders—translating ambiguity into scoped work and earning trust without a middle layer
- Experience deploying and maintaining services on AWS, with a pragmatic approach to infrastructure-as-code and observability
- A mindset that treats a customer’s messy edge case not as a distraction but as the most honest signal for what the product needs next
