You'll build the core systems that let legal teams delegate contract review, regulatory filings, and compliance checks to intelligent agents. Morning standups might cover tuning a clause-extraction pipeline one day and debugging AWS Lambda timeouts the next. Expect to ship production TypeScript weekly, pair with the CTO on architecture decisions, and talk directly with general counsels about what's actually slowing them down. This is zero-to-one engineering in a field where precision matters and 'mostly right' fails.

What they're looking for

  • 0-2 years shipping code professionally, with fluency in TypeScript and modern backend patterns
  • Comfort owning features end-to-end across AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, etc.)
  • Genuine interest in legal or compliance domains—prior exposure a plus, curiosity essential
  • Hunger to work in-person with a tiny technical team in New York, not remote tolerance but preference
  • Demonstrated ability to move fast without breaking things that matter: you write tests, you think edge cases, you care about maintainability
