You'll own the technical direction of a platform that fields thousands of real phone calls every day — answering questions, booking estimates, and updating schedules on behalf of contractors, roofers, and remodelers. This is a small team where your code ships to production constantly and your architectural decisions shape the product from the database schema to the conversation engine. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being both a builder and a multiplier: writing critical-path Python and TypeScript while mentoring a handful of sharp engineers. The founding team raised significant seed capital, moved fast to revenue, and now needs a technical backbone to scale what's working.
What they're looking for
- 6+ years building production web applications with Python and TypeScript (Next.js experience strongly preferred)
- Comfortable owning infrastructure on Azure — you can reason through a VNet layout and tune a PostgreSQL instance without leaning on DevOps
- Track record of leading small engineering teams, setting technical standards, and growing senior ICs into staff-level contributors
- Experience integrating with telephony systems, SIP trunks, or real-time audio streaming pipelines is a major differentiator
- Bias toward simplicity and speed — you'd rather delete code than write a framework, and you default to shipping something today over perfecting it next week
