YC-backed startup building domestic custom parts for defense and industrial customers.
Mechanical Engineer
Your mornings start at a bench in San Francisco, inspecting a batch of aluminum housings that came off a mill overnight. By lunch you're writing Python scripts to automate tolerance analysis; by afternoon you're on the phone with a machinist in Ohio troubleshooting a thread fit. The parts you ship go into systems that matter, and the process you help build is the product as much as the metal itself.
What they're looking for
- 1-4 years of mechanical engineering experience in hardware, manufacturing, or adjacent fields
- Proficiency in Python for engineering workflows: automation, data analysis, or CAD scripting
- Hands-on comfort with machining, fabrication, or inspection processes
- Ability to work on-site in San Francisco and collaborate directly with operators and suppliers
- U.S. person status or ability to work on defense-relevant projects
