You'll spend your days tuning multimodal models that parse conversation style, voice tone, and emotional cadence — turning messy human signals into structured data that actually drives match quality. Right now, you'll be the one setting up training pipelines and API layers that five engineers lean on daily. The stack is Python and FastAPI, the database is PostgreSQL, and the problems sit at the intersection of human behavior and machine inference.

What they're looking for

  • 5–8 years shipping ML systems in production, not just research prototypes
  • Deep comfort with Python and FastAPI; you've built APIs that models talk to and users wait on
  • Strong PostgreSQL skills — you know when to index, when to denormalize, when to reach for pgvector
  • Experience with multimodal or NLP models, ideally in consumer-facing products where latency matters
  • Based in or willing to relocate to New York; this early team works shoulder-to-shoulder
