Enterprise software builder with deep roots in government and defense sectors
Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer, US Government
You'll embed directly with US Government agencies to build and harden the infrastructure behind mission-critical systems—think secure pipelines for containerized workloads across classified and unclassified environments. Days swing between Terraforming Kubernetes clusters on AWS, troubleshooting Ansible playbooks for air-gapped networks, and pairing with analysts to shave hours off their decision loops. The work is deliberately invisible when it works, and yours is the hand keeping it that way.
What they're looking for
- 1–3 years running production infrastructure on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Solid grasp of Java application internals—enough to debug build failures and tune JVM configs without a developer hovering
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform or Ansible preferred)
- Comfort owning CI/CD pipelines end-to-end, from commit hooks to deployment verification
- US citizenship required; existing security clearance or ability to obtain one
