Staff Engineer
We’re rewriting how finance teams handle incoming payments — taking a manual, error-prone back-office function and turning it into something autonomous. As a Staff Engineer, you’ll shape the core platform that thousands of enterprises rely on to reconcile millions of transactions, designing systems that blend language models with traditional financial logic. This is a high-ownership role where you’ll move across the stack, from real-time data pipelines to the React interfaces that operators trust daily. You’ll set technical direction for a small, sharp team that shipped a working product within months of founding and now needs the architecture to match its ambitions.
What they're looking for
- 8+ years building production full-stack systems, with deep fluency in TypeScript, React, and Node.js
- Experience designing and scaling relational data models (we use MySQL) and REST or GraphQL APIs that serve high-throughput business logic
- Track record of technical leadership in small or early-stage teams — mentoring engineers, driving architecture decisions, and owning delivery end-to-end
- Comfort working on-site in San Francisco and collaborating closely with product and design in a tight feedback loop
- Familiarity with AI/LLM application patterns, or a demonstrated ability to ramp quickly on emerging technology in a production context
