A well-funded devtools startup eliminating JavaScript regressions in production web apps.
Forward Deployed Engineer
We're building tooling that catches visual and functional regressions in web applications before they ever reach a user—automatically, with no manual test writing. Our customers run some of the most complex JavaScript frontends in the world, and when they hit edge cases our core platform doesn't yet handle, you step in. You'll pair with engineering teams at top-tier product companies, debug their CI pipelines, write TypeScript that extends our capture and diffing engine, and ship fixes that make the whole platform smarter for everyone. This is a hands-on engineering role, not a support queue—you write real code, shape the product roadmap from the front lines, and turn hard-won customer insights into durable platform improvements.
What they're looking for
- 3–8 years writing production JavaScript or TypeScript, with deep comfort debugging complex web applications and their build toolchains
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins, or similar) for frontend projects
- Strong instinct for what makes a great developer experience—you've felt the pain of flaky tests and brittle automation and want to end it
- Ability to navigate a customer's codebase quickly, diagnose root causes, and communicate technical fixes clearly to both engineers and engineering leaders
- Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco for in-person collaboration with a tight-knit team of twenty
