An AI-native EDA startup rethinking how physical chip design gets done.

EDA/CAD Engineer

San FranciscoHybrid$250K - $350K2 - 7 years
We are building tooling that optimizes power, performance, and area inside the physical design flow — routing, placement, clocking — using models that learn from silicon realities instead of fighting them. This is a small, well-funded team that ships working code into real semiconductor pipelines, not slide decks. You will design and own core pieces of our CAD infrastructure, bridging Python prototyping with production-grade EDA workflows. The problems sit at the intersection of algorithms, geometry, and deep electrical intuition, and the work you do here will directly shape how next-generation chips get built.

What they're looking for

  • 2–7 years of experience writing EDA tooling or CAD flows, with strong Python fluency
  • Deep understanding of physical design stages — floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing, and signoff
  • Comfort reasoning about timing, power, and signal integrity tradeoffs in advanced nodes
  • Experience gluing together commercial EDA tools with custom scripts and internal engines
  • Bias toward building practical, fast abstractions rather than chasing theoretical purity
