You'll spend your mornings tuning React components that render in under 16ms, your afternoons wiring TypeScript interfaces to Three.js visualizations that make distributed system topology legible at a glance. This is frontend work with real engineering depth: state machines for agents living across regions, CSS animations that communicate latency without a single number, design systems that hold up when the underlying platform ships weekly. The right person here wants to own how developers experience a fundamentally new abstraction—not just polish someone else's wireframes.
What they're looking for
- 1+ years shipping React in production, with TypeScript fluency you can demonstrate in code review
- A portfolio showing UI you both designed and built—pixel precision plus component architecture
- Comfort with WebGL or Three.js, or demonstrable ability to learn complex graphics APIs quickly
- Experience in devtools, infrastructure, or platforms where the user is another engineer writing code
- Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco with a team small enough to fit around one table
