Forward Deployed Engineer
You'll embed directly with acquired portfolio companies across North America, untangling legacy stacks and rebuilding what matters. This is hands-on ownership: shipping production code in TypeScript and Python, architecting data pipelines in Snowflake, and occasionally dropping into Go when performance demands it. The portfolio spans niche verticals most engineers never touch—think freight routing, cemetery management, court reporting software—where your work moves actual revenue, not vanity metrics.
What they're looking for
- 3+ years shipping production systems across the full stack, with genuine depth in React and at least one strongly-typed backend language
- Demonstrated comfort inheriting unfamiliar codebases and making them run better within weeks, not quarters
- Solid grounding in data modeling and warehouse architecture; Snowflake experience preferred, not required
- Willingness to travel quarterly to portfolio sites in Toronto, New York, and the Bay Area for embedded sprint work
- Bias toward explicit communication and written artifacts—this role is as much translator between technical and business stakeholders as it is builder
