Early-stage hardware-robotics startup building intelligent systems with a small team in LA.
Applied AI Engineer
You'll train and ship PyTorch models that perceive and act in physical environments—then integrate them tightly into the backend stack they run on. One morning might mean debugging a sensor fusion network; the afternoon, optimizing inference latency for edge deployment. This is hands-on applied research with production consequences, not publishing for publishing's sake.
What they're looking for
- 2+ years shipping ML systems in Python and PyTorch, from notebook to deployed model
- Solid backend engineering sense—you can build the APIs and pipelines your models depend on
- Experience with edge or resource-constrained inference; robotics or hardware exposure a plus
- Comfort working on-site in Los Angeles with a tight-knit technical team
- Genuine interest in the full stack: data collection, model architecture, deployment, and iteration
