Forward Deployed Engineer
We're building the connective tissue between ambitious founders, sharp recruiters, and talented engineers who want to shape the next wave of education and fintech companies. This role sits at the intersection of deep technical problem-solving and direct customer partnership—you'll embed with our users, understand their hardest integration and workflow challenges, and ship solutions that make the platform indispensable. You won't just troubleshoot; you'll write production code in Python and TypeScript, prototype new tooling, and occasionally reach into C++, Java, or Rust when performance demands it. The work oscillates between heads-down engineering and high-trust conversations with operators who rely on us to move faster.
What they're looking for
- 1.5 to 5 years of professional engineering experience, comfortable working across the stack and switching between Python, TypeScript, and systems languages like C++ or Java
- Strong instinct for product and user experience—you treat a customer's operational bottleneck as your own and can translate it into a technical fix or feature
- Comfortable in ambiguous, early-stage environments where priorities shift and you're expected to define process rather than inherit it
- Clear communicator who can walk a non-technical founder through a complex integration without condescension, then turn around and whiteboard an architecture decision with peers
- Based in or willing to work hybrid from San Francisco or New York, with a bias for in-person collaboration several days a week
