You'll embed directly with commodity trading desks and supply chain teams, building Python and TypeScript tools that reconcile freight invoices, flag arbitrage signals, or automate compliance checks. One morning might mean pairing with a metals trader to debug a pricing model; the afternoon, shipping a dashboard that surfaces inventory discrepancies before they hit the balance sheet. This is engineering as translation — between raw market data and the humans making million-dollar timing calls.

What they're looking for

  • 3-7 years shipping production software, with substantial Python and TypeScript fluency
  • Experience integrating with messy, real-world data pipelines — think ERPs, exchange feeds, or legacy logistics systems
  • Comfort working on-site alongside non-technical operators; you actually enjoy the discovery conversations
  • Track record of turning ambiguous business pain into scoped, shipped tools without heavy handoff dependencies
  • Located in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco metro for a hybrid schedule
