You'll spend mornings running signal-integrity checks on radiation-hardened avionics boards and afternoons troubleshooting harness routing inside a cramped spacecraft bus. Your schematic revisions directly determine whether a power distribution network survives launch vibration or a thermal cycle in orbit. The work sits at the intersection of extreme-environment electronics and human-rated life support.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's in electrical engineering or equivalent, plus 4+ years designing circuits for aerospace, medical devices, or similarly regulated hardware
- Demonstrated fluency with high-reliability PCB design: controlled impedance, EMI mitigation, and derating practices for Class H or Class 3 assemblies
- Hands-on experience with power electronics, battery management systems, or motor drives above 100W
- Comfortable owning a design from initial architecture through qualification testing, including writing test plans and analyzing failure modes
- U.S. person status (citizen or permanent resident) required for export-controlled work
