Homeowners across the country are watching their premiums climb year after year with no end in sight. This team is building predictive models that let people lock in a stable rate before the next hike hits—turning a chaotic market into something predictable and fair. You’ll join a small, sharp group of twelve in New York as the engineering anchor: the person who shapes the product surface, the data pipelines underneath, and the underwriting intelligence that makes the guarantee possible. This is a hands-on build from nearly the ground floor, where your code directly determines whether a family in Tampa or a retiree in Sacramento can stop dreading their renewal notice.
What they're looking for
- Deep fluency across the modern web stack—Python on the backend, TypeScript and React on the frontend, with real reps shipping production systems end to end
- Comfort owning data models and API design (FastAPI and PostgreSQL experience is a strong plus) alongside thoughtful, usable interface work in Next.js and Tailwind
- A track record of building and iterating on financial or transactional products, ideally involving payments, pricing logic, or risk assessment
- The judgment to move fast without breaking trust—you balance scrappy pragmatism with the rigor that handling sensitive consumer data demands
- Eagerness to work hybrid in New York and help define engineering culture at a company still young enough that every architectural decision echoes for years
