You'll bridge electromechanical systems and autonomous intelligence, embedding sensors, actuators, and compute into rugged machines that move tons in warehouses, yards, and factory floors. The work is hands-on and unforgiving: a misaligned lidar mount or insufficient vibration isolation means a stalled production line, not just a software patch. We're after someone who treats grounding straps and CAN bus timing with the same rigor they bring to architecture decisions. Reporting into hardware robotics, you'll collaborate with perception and controls engineers whose algorithms depend directly on the physical interfaces you specify and validate.
What they're looking for
- 3ā8 years designing, building, or retrofitting electromechanical systems on mobile equipment, automotive, or robotics platforms
- Deep familiarity with automotive or industrial communication protocols (CAN, CAN-FD, Modbus, Ethernet) and power distribution for 24Vā48V systems
- Proven ability to integrate and troubleshoot lidar, radar, cameras, IMUs, and GNSS in environments with vibration, dust, and EMI
- Solid CAD and PLM experience, plus comfort with hands-on assembly, wire harness fabrication, and field debugging at customer sites
- Eligible to work in Texas or the UK with willingness to travel periodically to deployment sites for integration and commissioning support
