Director of AI Engineering
Massive construction sites generate terabytes of visual data, yet project managers still rely on manual inspections and lagging reports to know what is actually happening on the ground. This role exists to turn that raw imagery into real-time, actionable intelligence. You will build and lead the computer vision and machine learning teams that power our core tracking engine, shipping models that decipher physical progress from site photos. It requires a leader who can architect Python pipelines on AWS just as effectively as they mentor engineers building the React front-end that delivers the insights.
What they're looking for
- 8-15 years of engineering experience with a track record of leading ML or computer vision teams.
- Deep expertise in building and deploying production models using Python and AWS infrastructure.
- Proven ability to collaborate across the stack, including working closely with React developers.
- Experience bridging the gap between physical world data and software products.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid setup based in an Australian metro area.
