Staff/Principal Software Engineer, Backend
We're scaling the backbone of a platform that processes billions of signals—fusing a massive, continuously refreshed B2B data graph with agentic workflows that automate prospecting, enrichment, and multi-channel outreach. As a Staff or Principal backend engineer, you'll own the architecture and evolution of systems that ingest, index, and serve real-time company and contact intelligence, turning raw data into precise, high-velocity actions. You'll push our search infrastructure, streaming pipelines, and API surface forward, balancing latency, throughput, and correctness while mentoring senior engineers and setting technical direction across multiple squads. This is a role for someone who thrives on hard distributed-systems problems and wants their work to directly reshape how millions of deals get sourced and won.
What they're looking for
- 8–15 years of backend engineering experience with deep fluency in Ruby (Rails) and/or Python, including performance tuning, API design, and data modeling
- Proven track record of architecting and operating large-scale search, data ingestion, or event-driven systems on cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred), using tools like ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Kubernetes, and Terraform
- Comfort owning technical strategy across teams—defining patterns, deprecating legacy paths, and raising the bar for reliability, observability, and developer velocity
- Experience collaborating with product, data science, and GTM teams to translate ambiguous business requirements into pragmatic, phased technical roadmaps
- Strong communication and mentorship instincts; you lead through influence, write design documents that invite productive debate, and actively grow the engineers around you
