Mechanical Engineer II
Orbital systems remain brittle, and the hardware bridging orbit to ground too often fails under extreme thermal and mechanical stress. We need a hands-on mechanical engineer to own the design, analysis, and validation of critical assemblies that actually survive the ascent and the vacuum. You will translate broad architectural concepts into flight-ready hardware, driving components from initial CAD through manufacturing and into qualification testing.
What they're looking for
- 5 to 10 years of progressive mechanical engineering experience, ideally spanning hardware development to manufacturing handoff
- Deep ownership of CAD and FEA workflows to design and validate complex assemblies under harsh environmental loads
- Proven track record of shepherding physical systems through qualification testing and into low-rate production
- Comfortable operating on-site in Los Angeles within a small, concentrated engineering unit
