Staff Software Engineer, Frontend Platform
We’re building the frontend foundation that powers how people access life-changing mental health support — across web and mobile, in dozens of languages, for hundreds of thousands of users worldwide. This is a staff-level platform role, not a feature team seat. You’ll shape the component architecture, developer experience, and cross-platform patterns that let our product engineers ship with speed and confidence. You’ll work deep in the React and TypeScript layer while collaborating with design infrastructure, backend platform, and mobile teams to make the right abstractions feel invisible. If you care about performance, accessibility, and making frontend systems feel boring in the best possible way, this is the work.
What they're looking for
- 8+ years building production frontend systems, with deep expertise in React and TypeScript, and a strong point of view on component architecture and design systems
- Experience driving frontend platform strategy — bundler configs, CI/CD pipelines, shared libraries, and developer tooling — in a multi-team engineering org
- Comfort working across the stack enough to collaborate meaningfully with backend engineers using Python, GraphQL, Django, and PostgreSQL
- Fluency with accessibility standards, performance budgets, and cross-platform patterns that span web and mobile
- A track record of mentoring senior engineers, writing technical strategy documents, and influencing roadmaps without relying on authority alone
