Post-launch startup rebuilding enterprise identity infrastructure for modern security teams.
Senior Software Engineer, Backend
You'll spend most days in Go, designing the control plane that governs how thousands of workers access critical systems. The core challenge is making authorization decisions in single-digit milliseconds while the policy engine evolves weekly. Expect to refactor hot paths in PostgreSQL query plans, debug goroutine leaks in staging clusters, and occasionally ship a Python tool when the ecosystem demands it. This is infrastructure work where a bad deploy means locked doors, not a broken checkout flow.
What they're looking for
- 4+ years shipping production backend systems, with substantial Go experience
- Deep comfort with PostgreSQL: query optimization, partitioning, and transaction design
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience beyond kubectl apply: operators, controllers, or cluster debugging
- Demonstrated ability to build CI/CD pipelines that catch failure modes before they reach prod
- Familiarity with Python for tooling, and with identity/security concepts like OAuth, SCIM, or policy engines
