Dead zones are an engineering failure, not a fact of geography. We build the radio links that let a stock handset ping a satellite hundreds of kilometers up, and this role owns the RF payload side of that chain. You will lead architecture, requirements, and vendor technical oversight for spaceborne transceivers, steer them through assembly and environmental test, and carry your designs from thermal-vac campaigns through on-orbit commissioning. The work sits at the seam between cellular standards and spacecraft hardware, in a hybrid setup based in the South Bay.

What they're looking for

  • 8+ years in RF/microwave engineering with payload or spaceflight transceiver experience and a track record of technical leadership
  • Deep fluency in link budgets, noise figure, phase noise, spurious emissions, EVM, and line-up analysis at L-, S-, or Ka-band
  • Hands-on ownership of RF hardware through integration, thermal-vac, vibration, and EMC/EMI qualification
  • Comfort operating across standards and spacecraft domains, translating 3GPP NTN requirements into flight payload specifications
  • Experience directing external payload vendors or partners from proposal review through delivered flight units
