Senior Backend Software Engineer — GenAI
We are rebuilding the technological backbone of military sustainment—replacing systems that haven't meaningfully changed in decades with intelligent, responsive software that fuses real-time operational data and generative AI. This team ships backend services that orchestrate complex logistics chains, reason over massive heterogeneous datasets, and surface actionable insights to commanders in the field. You will design retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, build high-throughput APIs across Python and Go services, and own the indexing and query layers that sit atop ElasticSearch and vector databases. The work is demanding and deeply consequential: the systems you build will directly shape how critical resources reach the people who need them.
What they're looking for
- 6–8 years of backend engineering experience with deep fluency in at least two of Python, Go, Java, or TypeScript
- Proven track record designing and deploying RAG architectures, embedding pipelines, or other GenAI infrastructure in production
- Strong grasp of search and retrieval systems, including ElasticSearch and vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, or similar)
- Comfort operating in a security-conscious, on-site environment; prior exposure to defense, logistics, or regulated industries is a strong plus
- Experience owning CI/CD pipelines, observability, and performance tuning for distributed, data-intensive services
