This team designs and fields purpose-built defense platforms that operate at the edge of survivability—where RF performance, electronic warfare resilience, and rapid iteration aren't optional. As Head of RF Engineering, you'll own the architecture, development, and deployment of wideband front-ends, phased-array subsystems, and integrated transceivers across multiple active programs. You will lead a small, high-caliber hardware team through concept, prototyping, qualification, and production transitions, balancing hands-on circuit and antenna design with technical mentorship and program-level decision-making. Your work will directly shape how these platforms sense, communicate, and endure in contested environments—and how quickly they reach operators who need them.
What they're looking for
- 5–12 years of RF/microwave hardware experience, including power amplifiers, LNAs, frequency conversion, and passive component design from UHF through Ka-band
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering efforts in defense, aerospace, or security—comfortable acting as the primary technical authority with internal teams and external partners
- Deep familiarity with electromagnetic simulation tools (HFSS, CST, ADS, or equivalent) and hands-on lab validation using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and load-pull systems
- Experience taking designs from clean-sheet concept through environmental qualification and into production, with strong instincts for DFM, cost trade-offs, and reliability in harsh environments
- Active (or ability to obtain) U.S. security clearance and a willingness to work on-site in Los Angeles
