A small, well-funded team founded by veterans of frontier AI labs and advanced manufacturing is rethinking how physical goods are produced on American soil. Their approach fuses large-scale robotics models with real factory floors—moving beyond simulation into hardened, production-grade systems. They are looking for a Staff Hardware Engineer to own the electromechanical architecture of new robotic workcells, shepherd designs from concept through deployment, and shape the physical backbone of a new kind of factory. This is a hands-on, end-to-end ownership role where your work directly determines whether the robots perform reliably under real production loads.
What they're looking for
- 6–12 years designing and integrating complex mechatronic or robotic systems, with at least 3 years focused on industrial automation or manufacturing deployments
- Deep fluency in electromechanical design: motor selection, power distribution, sensor integration, cable routing, and thermal management for high-duty-cycle environments
- Demonstrated ability to take a hardware system from blank sheet through field deployment, including vendor coordination, BOM management, and design-for-manufacturing reviews
- Strong mechanical intuition coupled with practical electrical engineering skills—you can reason about structural loads as comfortably as you review a schematic
- Experience working shoulder-to-shoulder with software and controls engineers to debug system-level issues on live hardware in a production setting
