You'll spend mornings reviewing thermal profiling data from a sheet-metal forming cell, afternoons calibrating digital twin parameters against actual shop-floor output, and closing the loop with controls engineers on why simulation diverged from reality. This role owns the boundary between mechanical systems and the intelligence layer above them—tuning processes until predictive models match the clang and spark of real machines. You'll validate new fabrication methods, specify capital equipment, and build the physical reference standards that teach algorithms how American manufacturing actually behaves.
What they're looking for
- 7+ years owning manufacturing processes from prototype through sustained production, preferably in defense-adjacent or regulated environments
- Deep fluency with at least one major fabrication discipline—sheet metal, CNC machining, welding, or additive—plus working knowledge of production control systems
- Demonstrated success deploying digital twins, process simulation, or model-based manufacturing in live factory settings
- Willingness to travel to supplier facilities and government customer sites across the western U.S.; home base flexible within Denver, Seattle, or Los Angeles metro areas
- U.S. person status and ability to obtain security clearance; active clearance preferred
