A startup training people for healthcare careers, scaling fast after a recent growth round.
(Senior) Engineering Manager
This team builds the infrastructure behind online healthcare training that actually gets people hired—respiratory therapists, medical assistants, phlebotomists. They're at that inflection point where product-market fit is proven, AI is being woven into the learning experience, and the engineering org needs a leader who can shape systems for the next leap. You'll manage a squad building full-stack products while partnering closely with clinical educators who think in competencies, not story points. The work sits at a rare intersection: consumer-grade UX, EdTech pedagogy, and the rigor healthcare employers demand.
What they're looking for
- 5+ years in software engineering with recent experience leading and mentoring teams of 6+ engineers
- Track record shipping in CI/CD environments where reliability directly affects student outcomes
- Comfort navigating ambiguity between product, education, and healthcare stakeholders
- Experience scaling engineering practices at a growth-stage company (roughly 100-200 people)
- Based in New York metro area with genuine enthusiasm for hybrid collaboration
