Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

We’re building a platform where patients get fast, trustworthy medical advice from board-certified physicians, amplified by purpose-built AI tools that reduce busywork and sharpen clinical decision-making. Our backend engineers own the services that power those interactions—secure, low-latency systems that handle everything from care routing and clinical data to asynchronous provider workflows. This is a senior role on a lean, high-autonomy team; you’ll shape architecture decisions, mentor other engineers, and push production code that directly affects patient outcomes.
What they're looking for
- 6+ years of backend engineering experience, with deep fluency in TypeScript and NodeJS
- Strong relational data modeling skills and significant production experience with PostgreSQL
- Comfortable operating cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP, including containerized deployments with Docker and Kubernetes
- Track record of designing and maintaining high-availability APIs in regulated or safety-critical environments (healthcare, fintech, or similar)
- Clear communication and a collaborative instinct—you explain tradeoffs well and raise the bar for the engineers around you
