A small, research-heavy team is rethinking how AI infrastructure gets provisioned and scaled. They've built an open-source control plane that abstracts away the mess of GPUs, regions, and cloud APIs so engineers can describe what they need and have it materialize anywhere. The project already has real adoption, and now they need someone who can harden the platform's cloud integrations and make multi-provider orchestration feel boringly reliable. You'll work directly with the creators of the system, shipping Go services that stitch together Kubernetes clusters, provision bare-metal and VM fleets, and keep state consistent across regions.
What they're looking for
- 6+ years building backend systems, with deep experience in Go and a track record of owning services from design through production
- Strong operational understanding of Kubernetes—you've managed clusters, written controllers or operators, and debugged control-plane issues under load
- Comfortable reasoning about distributed system primitives: RPCs, consensus, idempotency, and graceful failure modes
- Experience using Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools to manage real multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments
- Clear, low-ego communicator who writes things down and thrives in a small group where engineering decisions are debated openly
