We’re building the infrastructure that lets researchers go from sample to publication-ready results in hours instead of weeks. Every sequencer, server, and network link in our fleet directly affects how fast a cancer biologist or an ecologist gets answers. This role sits at the intersection of lab hardware, cloud orchestration, and developer enablement—designing the systems that keep scientific throughput accelerating without compromising reliability. You’ll shape how we scale from a single-digit number of sites to a global presence, working with Python, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines to automate everything that can be automated.
What they're looking for
- 7+ years in infrastructure engineering, SRE, or DevOps roles with deep hands-on AWS experience
- Fluency in Python and Terraform; you write infrastructure as code and treat configuration drift as a bug
- Proven track record designing CI/CD pipelines and observability for hybrid environments that blend physical hardware with cloud services
- Experience managing fleets of Linux machines at scale, ideally including Ansible or comparable configuration management tools
- Clear communication instincts—you can debug a network issue alongside lab staff and document architectural decisions for engineering leadership
