You'll own the infrastructure backbone that processes billions of facial recognition queries at millisecond speed. This team runs a hybrid cloud environment where data throughput and system reliability aren't just metrics—they directly affect mission outcomes for defense, law enforcement, and national security partners. We need someone who treats PostgreSQL query plans and Kafka partition strategies as first-class design problems, not afterthoughts.
What they're looking for
- 5+ years designing and operating production infrastructure on AWS, with deep Terraform and Kubernetes experience
- Strong command of at least one backend language (Python or Go) for building internal tooling and automating away toil
- Experience scaling PostgreSQL and vector databases under heavy read/write workloads
- Comfortable owning CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and incident response for mission-critical systems
- Background working in security-conscious environments—you think about encryption, access controls, and audit trails by default
