A venture-backed team building autonomous field robots for utility-scale solar construction.

Senior Electrical Engineer

San FranciscoOn-site$165K - $200K3 - 10 years
You'll spend mornings debugging motor controllers on a workbench, afternoons writing Python to refine how our robots handle cable routing across uneven terrain, and some weeks deploying to active job sites to watch your designs operate under real desert sun. This is hands-on electromechanical work at the boundary of industrial automation and renewable energy infrastructure—tight integration of power distribution, sensing, and embedded software running on machines that weigh thousands of pounds. You'll collaborate directly with mechanical engineers and autonomy specialists, not hand off specs across org charts. Three to ten years of experience is the sweet spot; enough depth to own subsystem architecture, enough hunger to still twist wires when prototypes misbehave.

What they're looking for

  • 3+ years designing and shipping electromechanical systems for mobile robots, heavy equipment, or similarly demanding physical environments
  • Strong Python skills for hardware bring-up, test automation, and sensor integration
  • Comfortable with high-voltage power systems (solar PV or industrial DC/AC experience preferred)
  • Willingness to travel periodically to construction sites in the Southwest and work on-site in San Francisco or the South Bay
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent depth from independent project work
