Web data API serving AI companies, backed by top-tier VCs, 40-person team

Backend Infrastructure Engineer

San FranciscoHybrid$190K - $260K3+ years
You'll spend your days keeping data pipelines alive under real load: tuning Kafka consumer groups that ingest millions of pages, debugging why a Redis cluster tipped over at 3am, and building the Terraform modules that let the platform spin up new scraper fleets in under two minutes. The team runs Go and Python services on EKS, with Prometheus and Grafana as the pulse-check. You'll own the scary stuff—incident response, cost optimization, and the long migration off whatever duct-tape solution worked last quarter but won't scale through next year.

What they're looking for

  • 3+ years building and operating distributed backend systems in production, ideally with high-throughput data pipelines
  • Strong command of Go or Python, plus comfort reading TypeScript/Node.js when the monolith demands it
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS networking/security primitives—you've been paged for an etcd outage
  • Track record with observability: Prometheus, Grafana, structured logging, and the judgment to know when an alert is signal versus noise
  • Located in or willing to commute to San Francisco or South Bay for hybrid collaboration
