Backend Engineer, Foundations

We're looking for a Backend Engineer to join our Foundations team in New York. You'll work on core infrastructure powering an AI-driven legal platform, handling everything from data pipelines to distributed systems. You'll collaborate with a focused team of 10 on production systems that serve enterprise clients, working on-site.

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years backend engineering experience with Python
  • Production experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with at least one of: Go, Rust, or event streaming systems (Kafka, Airflow)
  • Experience building or maintaining vector stores and data infrastructure
  • Ability to design and scale backend systems for enterprise use cases
