Well-funded startup building industrial AI robots for factory and warehouse automation
Robotics Perception Engineer
You'll spend your days making machines actually see. This role centers on designing and deploying perception systems that let robotic arms identify, locate, and manipulate objects in chaotic real-world environments—think cluttered bins, shifting conveyor belts, and reflective surfaces under poor lighting. One morning you might be tuning a point-cloud segmentation pipeline; the next, you're debugging why a depth-camera mount keeps drifting in thermal expansion. The codebase spans embedded C++ on the hardware side and Python tooling for rapid algorithm iteration.
What we're looking for
- 2-5 years shipping perception or computer-vision code for physical systems, not just Kaggle models
- Strong C++ fundamentals plus fluent Python for prototyping and data analysis
- Hands-on experience with 3D vision: depth sensors, point clouds, mesh processing, or geometric reconstructions
- Comfort working beside hardware— occasional troubleshooting on the factory floor is expected
- Clear written communication; you'll document algorithms for teammates across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines
- Must be based in the United States.
