The AI-native law firm built for fast-growing companies across healthcare, fintech, and deep tech.

Senior Counsel - Employment

San FranciscoRemote$180K - $240K5 - 8 years
We are building a different kind of law firm — one where employment counsel sits at the intersection of sharp legal reasoning and purpose-built AI tooling. This role exists because our clients, from Series B startups to public fintechs and AI labs, need sophisticated employment advice that keeps pace with how they actually operate. You will design compensation structures, navigate high-stakes investigations, run reductions in force, and draft the equity and separation agreements that shape a company’s most sensitive moments. More than that, you will help define what an AI-augmented employment practice looks like: faster turnarounds, sharper pattern recognition, and fewer hours lost to the parts of the job a machine can handle.

What we're looking for

  • 5–8 years of employment law experience, with meaningful time at a top-tier law firm and ideally some in-house or secondment exposure to tech or life sciences clients
  • Deep fluency in California and New York employment law, including wage-hour, leave management, restrictive covenants, and pay transparency regulations
  • Comfortable drafting and negotiating executive employment agreements, equity award documentation, and separation instruments without relying on stale templates
  • Experience running internal investigations and advising on sensitive terminations, reductions in force, and workforce restructuring
  • Genuine curiosity about how language models and legal reasoning tools can reshape the practice of law — no engineering background expected, but a willingness to experiment is essential
  • Must be based in the United States.
